ABOUT THE CLUB

Since being founded in 1997, South Buffalo Rugby has been one of the premier sports clubs in Western New York.

Our senior men’s team has won the New York State Division III Championship in 2007 and the Empire GURFU Division III North Championship in 2012 and 2013. Our senior women’s team won the Empire GURFU Division III Championship in 2015.

We welcome all players, of any age and skill level to join! The team is always looking for new members to join its solid ranks of athletes. South Buffalo Rugby prides itself on its winning tradition, along with sportsmanship and competitive spirit. Most importantly, having fun is a main priority amongst the club’s members. The club is also active in the local community, volunteering at events and charities.

Men’s Division III compete in Empire Geographic Rugby Union. Empire GU manages and fosters rugby for more than 100 men’s and women’s clubs and colleges in New York State, Northern New Jersey and Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Women’s Division II compete in the Allegheny Rugby Union.
