For the seventh consecutive year, South Buffalo Rugby has made the trek the Adirondacks for the annual pilgrimage of rugby teams. Each year since entering a social side in 2011**, the club has grown its presence in Saranac Lake/Lake Placid — bringing up more players, along with their families and friends.
This year was overly special as it saw the entrance of teams in three brackets: Men’s Social, Women’s Social, and Men’s Club. The two Social sides had great games that saw them finish 2-1 on Saturday, with both making it to the quarter-finals.
The Men’s Club side lost its first sending them to the Consolation rounds, but won the next three, capped off with the club’s first ever Championship versus cross-town rival Buffalo Rugby Club!
A huge thank you to all players, families and friends who made the six hour drive to the heart of the Adirondacks! We are already looking forward to next year’s Saranac Can-Am Tournament.
